TUPELO, Miss. ( WCBI) — A Tupelo Church is sending a message to Washington, that it wants something done to stop the slaughter of Christians by the terrorist group ISIS.
Members of Harrisburg Baptist Church signed petitions this morning that will be sent to Senators Thad Cochran and Roger Wicker, who hopefully send them on to President Obama.

Senior Pastor Dr. Forrest Sheffield also used his Sunday morning sermon to call on the congregation to take a bold stand by writing personal letters or telephoning leaders in Washington and making it clear that they want something done to protect Christians and others who are being brutally murdered by ISIS terrorists.
“The atrocities that they are committing is just beyond our wildest imagination, he says. “It sounds like we’re living in a 100 AD or 200 AD or 300 AD where Christians were just being killed by hundreds and thousands in the most atrocious way that you can ever imagine,” Sheffield laments.
Sheffield says Islamic terrorists today want to eradicate Christianity in the Middle East just like the Nazis wanted to eradicate the Jews in Europe.
