Update: Three Charged with Capital Murder in Starkville Shooting

STARKVILLE, Miss. (WCBI) – The Starkville Police Department have arrested and charged three people with Capital Murder in the death of Ellis Wade Bishop, Jr also known as June Bug. The July 12th murder occurred as a result of an attempted robbery and is believed to be drug related. Twenty-four year old Phillip Thomas Mason, 24-year old Charleka Shanay Brooks and 25-year old Milton Jamal Brown, all of Starkville, have been incarcerated in the Oktibbeha County Jail. All three have beenn denied bond due to the fact they’re charged with Capital “death penalty” Murder. Police responded to The Dawg Carwash in Starkville Friday morning to find 24-year old Bishop, Jr. dead from a gunshot wound to the head. No further details have been released at this time due to the ongoing investigation.
