TUPELO, Miss. (WCBI) – Jay Dupuis (doo pwee) of Louisiana, beat out a field of contestants from 13 states in this year’s event at the Tupelo Elvis Festival. Now, he will go on to the Ultimate Elvis Tribute Artist Competition in Memphis during Elvis week in August.

“This is it this is the place to be right here. To represent Tupelo is everything to me. I’d love to win the ultimate but winning here is a very big goal in my life I’ve just reached and I’m ecstatic right now. They know Elvis here they appreciate Elvis and they appreciate what we are doing, by no means are we Elvis or remotely close to him but they appreciate us trying to keep his memory alive and for us to do our tribute,” says Dupuis.

Dupuis says he’ll be rehearsing until the August competition. He will represent Tupelo in the world famous contest.
