COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI)- Financial Concepts has been promoting its”Kindness Raiser” for a couple weeks now. It’s spreading generosity throughout the community.

“Seeing the smiles on their faces when you do something for them, then it put a smile on your face too,” said local Bobbie Page.

That’s the idea of the 26 Acts of Kindness campaign. People perform an act of generosity in hopes that it will motivate another person to do the same.

“I love to bake and I have a friend in the swing bed at the hospital and her husband is at home and I wanted to do something nice for him,” added Page.

The idea was inspired by the tragedy in Newtown Connecticut. Gwen Walker made 34 hats and donated some of them to the local cancer center that took care of her mother. She says the people there are really close to her heart.

“They really care and you go everyday or you do every other day so you really get to know some of the other patients and a lot of them lose their hair.It’s just nice to able to give back especially to people who really need it,” said kindness spreader Gwen Walker.

The tickets can help make a difference  and with over one hundred acts of kindness spread throughout the area already, Financial Concepts is still working hard to reach their 25 hundred goal.

“A friend of mine in need of a septic tanks, plugged up at his house, he can’t even wash his dishes so we went and got him a building permit and in the process, we placed the septic tank in his house. You know a lot of people are not as fortunate as you are,” added local Jim Gorrell.

Individuals are asked to share a “kindness card” when performing an Act of Kindness and Financial Concepts will help tally the acts spread in the area by counting the stubs through the company’s Facebook Page or email.
