COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) — A new playground may be added to the Columbus Soccer Complex.

The Lowndes County Board of Supervisors allocated $50,000 towards a Wildlife, Fisheries and Parks grant that will fund a new playground.

The project is estimated to cost around $100,000 including a new pavilion, a swing set and other equipment.

The Columbus-Lowndes Recreational Authority also met with the Columbus City Council where they approved another $50,000 to help finance the project.
