VIDEO: Angel Tree Update

COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI)- The Columbus Salvation Army Angel tree in the Leigh Mall still has about 50 more angels to be adopted.

They started with around 450 angels at the start of November.

Churches and companies in the area have come together since then and adopted the majority of these angels.

Major Cheryl Phillips says most of the angels that remain are the older children.

Phillips asks the community to give what they can and adopt a remaining angel if possible.

“Bring toys to help us fill, because we always have angels that don’t get returned unfortunately, and that helps us to fill those bags. So any kind of angel that you can come get, but please take the older kids, they’re the ones that are always the last ones on the tree and we don’t want to forget them so we would appreciate that so much,” says Phillips.

The deadline to return any items purchased for adopted angels is December 10th. You can return them tot the table in Leigh Mall or the Columbus Salvation Army.
