Video: Annual Festival Draws Artists, Live Music, Games, To River’s Edge In New Albany

NEW ALBANY, MISS. (WCBI) – Final preparations are underway for a huge festival in New Albany, along the river’s edge.

The annual “Tallahatchie Riverfest” begins this evening with a carnival and midway.

There will also be live music , art work for sale, a lot of activities for kids and even a dine around town Friday night.

And of course the “Rubber Duck Regatta” Saturday at noon.

The weekend event brings in tens of thousands of people and makes a big impact on the entire area.

“It fills our hotels up, fills our restaurants up and really it’s a way we can showcase the , having it in downtown, we have such a pretty downtown, people come and they see it and then they come back later so it’s a great way for us to showcase the town,” said Sean Johnson, director of marketing for the City of New Albany.
