VIDEO: Blood Drive

COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI)-Aircare 3, The University of Mississippi’s Medical Center’s newest medical air transport helicopter partnered with Mississippi Blood Services to give back to the community through a blood drive.   Saturday morning in Lowndes County at Airbus Helicopters, Airbus employees and the public were encouraged to donate blood.   Aircare 3 transports blood and plasma in addition to patients throughout North Mississippi.   The goal of Saturday’s blood drive was to donate back every unit that has been administered to critically ill patients in the Golden Triangle area.  The new Aircare 3 addresses North Mississippi’s need for critical care access.   Air Care Bases are also located in UMMC’s main campus in Jackson and in Meridian.
