Video: Boys And Girls Club CEO Visits Columbus, Discusses Impact

COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) – The CEO of a major U.S. mentorship organization came to Columbus Thursday.

Boys and Girls Club President and CEO, Jim Clark, visited the Columbus location. He said he wanted to meet the children and see how everything was running.

He said grants like the one Columbus just received are important for every club and groups like this can really make a positive impact in a community.

“It’s a community-based organization,” Clark told WCBI. “Having resources is the lifeblood of every Boys and Girls Club.”

A $50,000 grant from Lowe’s came in this month.

“This is all about leveling the playing field,” Clark said. “So many kids have access to opportunities that some kids don’t. Boys and Girls Clubs level that and change the dynamic for kids.”

The grant will go to improving the Columbus facilities.
