Starkville, MS(WCBI)-They’re used to hearing cowbells, but today some Mississippi State football players put a new bell in their hands. The Bulldogs are making a final push to help the Salvation Army reach its funding raising goal this Christmas season. This isn’t the first time the players have helped out with ringing the bell. This afternoon they were at three different locations around Starkville. Salvation Army workers say Red Kettle donations are down 16 percent this season, in part because Thanksgiving fell later this year.
