Video: Burlington Shoe Store Robber Gets 20 Years

COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) -The man who pleaded guilty to holding up Burlington Shoes will spend the next 20 years in prison.

39 year old David Barnhart was caught in Nevada after robbing the Columbus shoe store.

Barnhart entered his guilty plea in Lowndes County Circuit Court in February.

The robbery took place in July of 2010.

At the time, Columbus police told WCBI Barnhart attempted to buy a pair of shoes but his card was denied.

That’s when he allegedly pulled a gun and ordered the clerk to give him money.

Investigators tracked him down because he left his card behind.

Barnhart is also ordered to pay $1,090 in restitution.
