STARKVILLE, Miss. (WCBI) — C-Spire and Starkville are celebrating an impressive partnership and milestone of having underground capability to manage mission-critical data.

Starkville is one of the first statewide players in the Fiber to the Home initiative, offering 100 times faster internet access, HD digital TV and home phone service.

Today’s historic event celebration was a boast for cloud-based computing for area businesses.

Construction of the only statewide 1-gigabyte ultra-fast consumer broadband initiative is bringing cutting edge technology of tomorrow to communities today.

“There are very few cities in the country that have this,” Alan Jones with C-Spire said. “We are really excited to bring it to Mississippi first.”

“This type of partnership with C-Spire and Starkville is really how we are going to lead Mississippi forward with this technology,” C Spire’s Senior Vice President for Brand Management and Personalization Suzy Hays said.

C-Spire construction that will be done in phases has already started. Drilling for the project should take place next week.
