Video: Calhoun City Teacher Takes Fundraising to New Heights

CALHOUN CITY, Miss. (WCBI) –A Calhoun City Middle School teacher is going to new heights to raise money and awareness for Parkinson’s Disease research.

Kristy Tindall challenged her students to raise $750.00 for Team Fox, an arm of the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research.

If they did she would spend the night on the roof of the school.

The students didn’t disappoint, passing the goal by a hundred dollars.

On Wednesday, Tindall held up her end of the deal.

But for her it’s more than just a stunt.

“I ran in the New York City half marathon, and I saw team fox represented there, and my mother was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease 2 and a half years ago. It made me want to do something with Team Fox to help raise money to find a cure for Parkinson’s.”

This isn’t Tindall’s first fundraiser. She has also been slimed, kissed a pig, and even been duct taped to a wall for her cause..
