Video: Calhoun County Sets $11 Million Dollar Budget For New Fiscal Year

CALHOUN COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI) – The Calhoun County budget is also set for the new fiscal year.

The county has an $11 million dollar working budget.

County taxpayers will also being paying extra in taxes.

A one mill increase was added for shortfall and for court reporters.

“We didn’t meet all the requests that we were asked, and it’s very unfortunate because they were in very high demand, and need to be, but the board did what they thought they could do for the taxpayers of Calhoun County,” says Board of Supervisors President, Barney Wade.

One request not met includes adding more deputies to the Calhoun County Sheriff’s Department.

The board hopes to fulfill the unmet requests in the future.
