BOONEVILLE, Miss. (WCBI) — A Nashville based artist is making his way up the country music ladder. And Mitch Rossell and his band hope a music video shot in Northeast Mississippi will help.

It all begins with a pre-production meeting for Mitch Rossell and his team. They begin shooting a music video for Rossell’s song titled, “God, Girls and Football” in just a few short hours. The shoot is taking place on the grounds of Northeast Mississippi Community College’s Tiger Stadium.

“We got a couple of teams out here, we’re just going to have a good time. Throw a little football and make some hits and all that good stuff, ” Mitch Rossell said.

Rossell says the concept of the upbeat song is simple:

“It’s the three things that most people can relate to as they look back on their high school years.”

“Its just about reminiscing. I know for me like looking back at high school it was fun, it was simple, it was easy and it was one of the best times of my life. So I love the Lord, I love pretty girls and you cant go wrong with
football. When we wrote it its just, it was natural to us. It was one of those songs,” Rossell said.

There’s a lot of hype around town about the music video. And local residents say they are excited about it because of the attention it will bring into the area.

“Its going to get some exposure. I mean a lot of people get to see what high school football is like in Mississippi. So I’m just glad that being a junior college that we are getting to be a part of it and its a lot of exposure for everybody involved, ” Rickey Smither, NEMCC Head Football Coach, said.

Rossell and the crew have been getting some practice shots, but they are looking for a large crowd of extras to fill the stands of Tiger Stadium for the final video shoot Friday evening.
Rossell says the music video should be ready around August.

If you would like to be an extra for the video, gates will open at 7 pm Friday, July 11th. A free concert will be held at 9:30 pm. All will take place at the NEMCC Tiger Stadium.
