CRAWFORD, Miss. (WCBI) – A well-known soul R&B artist from Crawford, Mississippi wanted to give back to her community by shooting her next music video in her hometown.

Falisa Janaye is an upcoming artist with at least three songs that play on Local radio stations like Mix 106 and 92.1. Even with the recent success of her first album, FaLisa wanted to shoot her music video where her dreams started.

“Being amongst family and friends and people that are showing you love. That’s the main reason why I wanted to come back, this is home for me. I’m a country girl. I got on my cowboy boots. I’m a country girl,” says Janaye.

She wasn’t singing about the south. FaLisa says her new new song “back to Love” represents the morals and values our country was built on.

“The lyrics in the song are talking about love and family and how neighbors used to be. How people used to get along and we took prayer out of school and now we got guns coming into our schools. You know these children, they need to know that people, we love them,” says Janaye.

Behind every great singer is a great song writer. Alvin Jackson, produced and composed “back to Love” He says after all the hard work it’s finally coming together.

“When we started, it doesn’t sound the way I intended for it to because the longer we went on, the more things start coming together.  It’s awesome now, a video it’s amazing, says Jackson.

FaLisa wants to encourage people of all ages to go for your dreams.

“Follow your dreams. Don’t give up no matter how old you are. Don’t let anything and anyone stop you. Pray to God. Ask God to give you guidance, tell him to order your foot steps and I mean just go for it,” says Janaye.

FaLisa’s new CD will be released in August.
