VIDEO: Family And Friends Celebrate The Life Of Dr. Hank Flick

STARKVILLE, Miss. (WCBI)- It was last week when the beloved professor, and long time public address announcer at Mississippi State, Dr. Hank Flick, passed away.

Flick taught at MSU for more than four decades.

On Friday, he was laid to rest.

Family members, colleagues, and friends gathered at St.Joseph Catholic Church in Starkville to celebrate Flick’s life.

It was an emotional yet joyous mood during the home going ceremony.

During the service, some of Flick’s students and co-workers took the time to reflect on the memories they shared with the well-respected professor, and the impact he had on the entire MSU community.

“I had him as a student my last year of college for two classes, said Nick Bell, who attended Flick’s home going service. “I got to know him in the classroom and out of the classroom. He was just a great encourager, a great godly man that really impacted my life.”

“He was inspirational to me because he allowed me to bring my son to class when I did not have a baby-sitter,” said Aries Spruell, who attended Flick’s home going service. “I think that shows just what a kind heart he had. He never made it obvious, and he gave him a nickname just like he gave anybody else in the class.”

Dr. Flick is survived by his son Harrison.
