VIDEO: Fellowship Over Live Stream

STARKVILLE:

A Starkville family has been given some fame thanks to their Facebook Live posts on their music page.

It’s a recent addition to their page, and the growing number of fans is bringing their music to a whole different level

They are the Lowrey family, two parents with their three young children, all of whom are musical.

They perform at local churches around the area, and thanks to Facebook Live videos, their fan base is going far beyond the four walls of a church building.

Adam and Tara Lowrey are two locals who have been singing together for most of their lives.

“We met almost thirty years ago; we started singing,” said Tara “I was 8.”

“She came to my dad’s church, and they’d been coming ever since,” said Adam. “That’s when we started singing together in the choir.”

The two have been specializing in praise and worship music, performing in churches in the Golden Triangle area.

For some time, they have had a social media presence, but a few months ago, Adam had an idea to reach out to more people.

“So I called one day and said get ready. We’re going to do Facebook Live tonight,” said Adam. “She said ‘What will we do?’ I said I don’t know. We’re going to sing, and that’s going to be pretty much it.”

Since then, their number of fans on social media has nearly double thanks to the videos.

“We started a music page for us, and we had eighteen-hundred followers over the course of… I don’t know a year or two. Since we’ve started Facebook live, it’s gone from eighteen-hundred to thirty-two-hundred in a matter of a few months,” said Adam.

The family’s videos feature cover songs, as well as originals, with an inspirational message the two share.

Now, the family is attracting some fame from the thousands of followers, asking them to perform for live audiences.

The amount of time that all of this happened in is a little unexpected.

“I knew it was growing fast when I went into a vehicle parts store, and the guy, never seen him before in my life, said ‘Hey man. I know you,'” said Adam. “I was holding my son, and he said ‘That’s Isaac.’ It just took me off guard because he knows my son’s name, and I’ve never met this guy before.”

The family takes this as a blessing, though, happy that their videos of love and faith has reached out to so many.

“It feels awesome, but it’s also scary. Like, everything’s moving so fast. I’m like whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, but it just feels really awesome. I thank God for the opportunity to be able to do this,” said Tara

When the songs are sung and the message is spoken, all viewers are given the couple’s closing tag line, letting those who are watching know that the Lowrey family’s are straight from the heart.

“With love. From. Adam. And Tara Lowrey. God Bless you all.”

The Lowrey’s first live performance is schedule for May 6th in Louisville.
