VIDEO: Fire Rates Go Down

MONROE COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI)- A local county made a big announcement to their community this week.

Monroe county announced Wednesday that they are lowering their fire rates.

This means a lower insurance premium for home owners and also speaks volumes of the county’s fire departments.

It was made possible because of community efforts and the amount of equipment the department was able to obtain.

“Years of hard work and training of this fire department. Gotta have good record keeping, participation, good equipment. There’s a multitude of things that go into this,” says County Administrator Evan Adams.

The Cedar Creek Volunteer Fire department also announced that its rated 7… becoming the only one in the local area.
