VIDEO: Furniture Factory Owners Mourn Over Business Destroyed By Fire

EGYPT, Miss. (WCBI)- A weekend fire destroyed a business in Chickasaw County. Now investigators are trying to find a cause and Owners are picking up the pieces.

This is all that remains of a furniture factory in Egypt, Mississippi.

A fire broke out late Friday night, burning the 3500 square foot building to the ground.

Okolona Fire Chief Terry Tucker says a Tuesday meeting is planned to discuss the cause of the fire.

The owners of the business say that they’re heartbroken over the loss of what has been their life for the past 14 years.

They’re determined to rebuild what they lost.

“I couldn’t believe it. I thought maybe something else or something, anything other than my building. We have put 14 years into this and we started from pretty much nothing and it has taken care of us for the past 14 years that’s what we have been doing.”

Johnson says they were told from fire officials that the likely cause was wiring inside the building.
