GOLDEN TRIANGLE, Miss. (WCBI) – October is Gaucher Disease awareness month.

Gaucher is not a well-known disease that affects 1 in 20,000 people.

The folks at Magnolia Outpatient Rehab Centers are not only making sure you remember pink, but also the color green.

Nancy Cumbee was 5 years old when she was diagnosed.

“At the time we weren’t exactly sure what was wrong because there has only been medication which is an enzyme replacement in the form of IV therapy. Which I have every other week. Since my body breaks things down so differently. You have to get IV therapy every other week,” said Cumbee.

Cumbee credits her staying power to her faith, and the supportive team at Magnolia.
