Video: Grammy Museum Mississippi “Bringin’ It All Back Home”

COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) –What do Blues, Country, and Rock and Roll all have in common? They have their roots in Mississippi. A recently opened museum in the Delta celebrates those roots.

The Grammy Museum in Cleveland celebrates the rich tapestry of American Music. Emily Havens, the museum’s director, brought that message to Columbus on Thursday.

Havens is quick to point out that the facility is not just a celebration of the past, but also an investment in the future.

“With a lot of schools, both public and private, and the lack of music education, we had to fill that gap. We hope to be able to bring kids in to experience music. Tours, education programs, workshops, instrument lessons, anything where we can help add to the development of children, and enhance their experience.”

The Grammy Museum is currently featuring an exhibit focused on the career of Stevie Ray Vaughan.
