ABERDEEN, Miss. (WCBI) – Even if they don’t get TV shows and newspaper sections dedicated to their work, they go through their own two-a-days to get ready, practice daily and add something special to Friday nights.

On Saturday, more than a dozen high school bands from across the region got a chance to show off during the Tenn-Tom Band Showcase in Aberdeen.

The festival was the first of several across Northeast Mississippi this fall.

Six judges scored bands on everything from drum majors and flag corps, to overall performance.

The Aberdeen High and Itawamba Community College bands gave special exhibition performances, while the others took part in the competition.
