NOXUBEE COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI) – High school students in Noxubee County are learning new ways to stay healthy.

On Friday, the high school hosted its first health fair.

Students took advantage of several booths, which were put on by local colleges and health organizations.

Several nurses at the event showed the teens how to check their body mass index, and properly brush their teeth.

Organizers say they hope the event was very beneficial to students.

“It’s important for students to learn health here today because it’s always important to know what you’re dealing with and how to avoid it,” said senior Tamaria Clay.

Organizers say they plan to make the health fair an annual event.
