COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI)- During the holidays, most of the people on your shopping list include family and close friends..but what about those you see on a daily basis? A coworker? mailman? or teacher? They also deserve a little treat for all that they do, but what do you get them?

Valerie Taylor owns Serendipity in downtown Columbus. During this time of the year, she’s always greeted with holiday surprises.

“I would get a lot of candles, candy, tips. Just yesterday, one of my new male clients gave me a generous tip that was, unexpected but really appreciated,” says Taylor.

It’s a small token, many customers enjoy doing for those they see throughout the year.

“A hair dresser, she’s part of your team! She makes you look good everyday so I think that’s a great time to recognize somebody. Make people know they’re appreciated and feel valued,” says Allison.

If you’re looking for something to give a teacher or co-worker, relaxation is key.

“For teachers and people in service organizations, any kind of comfort gift like spa ideas or going to the nail salon, movie tickets are all fun gifts to give. I love to make casseroles for people that work so they don’t have to come home and cook dinner. So anything that you can do to ease that person’s work day is a great gift,” Allison.

And If money is tight, show them that you care through words. Sometimes, it’s just the thought that counts.

“Write a handwritten thank you not to them or a note of appreciation. Just expression to them how much they are valued and how much they’re loved,” says Allison.

At the end of the day, no matter what you decide to give, it’s guaranteed to brighten their holiday.

” I would like to show my appreciation to all my loyal clients throughout the year, especially at Christmas,” says Taylor.

Also, you can never go wrong with gift cards. It’s inexpensive and gives them a variety of things to choose from.
