TUPELO, Miss. (WCBI) — Got Milk? Some local dairy farmers are reminding Tupelo residents of the benefits.

Taylor Jersey Farm in Prentiss County handed out free chocolate milk and ice cream sandwiches for customers at the Scruggs Home Improvement store.

With June being Dairy month, these farmers want to promote the industry along with health benefits.

With free gifts from recipes to cow sunglasses, dairy farmer Carla Taylor hopes wants milk drinkers to see first hand how milk goes from cows to their fridge.

“Farmers are here in Mississippi. Agriculture is a vital industry in the state and we’re here to maybe answer any questions they may have. Let them see a cow and touch a cow first hand since so many people don’t have that opportunity today,” says Carla Taylor.

The group hopes to have a cow milking contest next year.
