Video: Local Groups Receive Donations

LOWNDES COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI) – West Point schools, two Choctaw County organizations and the Salvation Army received sizable donations Monday.

The 4 County Electric Foundation presented the money to the groups.

It gave $8,850 to West Point consolidated schools, over $8,000 total to a volunteer fire department and high school alumni association in Choctaw County, and $3,224 to the Salvation Army.

“What we want to do is have the 501(c) organizations that are requesting the grants to send in what they need it for,” Kathy Howell said. “Then we grant them what we think is necessary.”

Monday’s donations total $21,709.
