COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) — A local library is honoring a very well known children’s author this weekend.

That’s because it’s Dr. Seuss’ birthday on Sunday.

Dozens of three-to five-year-olds spent the afternoon celebrating his birthday at the Columbus-Lowndes public library.

They listened as Mother Goose read them one of Seuss’ classics – Green Eggs and Ham – and talked a little about his life.

The kids also enjoyed games, cake and face painting.
