TUPELO, Miss. (WCBI)-Tupelo city council members have until tomorrow to veto Mayor Jack Reed Jr.’s decision to prevent Carlock Toyota’s request for a business sign twice as large as allowed. The sign a whopping 48 foot tall, 170 square- foot wide sign would hang near Highway 45 by the Barnes Crossing shopping area. Mayor Reed said allowing the larger sign could set a bad precedent and jeopardized aesthetics in the shopping area. If the veto sustains the car dealership will have to wait 12 months to resubmit a request.
