WEST POINT, Miss. – (WCBI) West Point residents remembered the life and times of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr in style Friday evening.

The West Point Alumni chapter hosted the Black Tie Banquet.

Area young people were in charge of the entertainment, as they sang and danced for the crowd.

All of the proceeds from this annual event go to a scholarship fund for graduating seniors.Last year, the chapter raised $60,000.

Dr. Loucrecia Watson-Collins was the keynote speaker. Dr. Collins is an award winning educator, radio host and author from Birmingham.
