TUPELO, Miss. (WCBI) – The Tupelo Furniture Market is gearing up for its Fall show. Organizers say the number of pre-registered buyers for the upcoming market is on track to top the past two markets. The Fall market officially starts Thursday, but buyers and exhibitors are already coming into town. Officials point out about one third of preregistered buyers are new to this market. Officials say there are several things that distinguish the Tupelo Market from all the others.
“There’s product here they can’t find anywhere else. This area is really the only furniture manufacturing hub left in the country and as a result of that, not only do you have companies that have been here a long time that show here, we still have companies that are starting up here and the first market they ever do is Tupelo.”
There will be a gift and accessories show that is open to the public in Building One. On Thursday there are several special events planned for that show, including a health fair. More than 11 thousand people are expected to attend this week’s market.
