OXFORD, Miss. (WCBI) — Oxford Superintendent of Education Brian Harvey wants to take his campus back from Yik Yak. Yik Yak is a new mobile app that lets  people send anonymous messages to anyone within a five mile radius who has the app in their mobile device.

Harvey says Oxford High students discovered Yik Yak over spring break and are now using the app to send rumors lies and false statements about other students without any fear of being traced. That’s because Yik Yak doesn’t require a password or a profile to use it. Harvey wants the developer to change the code where Yik Yak will not work within a mile of his campus.

Other districts nationwide are having the same problem so the developers say they are working on restricting access on school properties.
