COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI)- Columbus Police Department put their foot to the peddle today.
It was part of an exercise to maintain training standards and trying to reduce the amount of wrecks they’ve had in the past.
“These are obviously high-powered vehicles and if they get away they can kill someone so we’re charged with having to pursue people at times and we need to be as safe as we possibly can,” says Columbus Police Chief Selvan McQueen.
McQueen says officials from the Mississippi Highway patrol came out and volunteered to help with the program.
