VIDEO: Rebels Prepare For Tough LSU Defense

OXFORD, Miss. (WCBI) — The Ole Miss Rebels face another big test this upcoming Saturday, a showdown with rival #25 LSU in Death Valley.

Ever since Ed Orgeron took over for Les Miles, the Tigers have been stout, blowing out teams on its way back to the Top 25.

“They’re athletic. They can run, they can hit, they do a lot of good things”, senior quarterback Chad Kelly said.

“That’s what they’re known for, is their defense. I think we just need to stick to what we do, go fast, and it comes down to execution.”

“Defensively, they’ve always been one of the best in country and continue to be that”, head coach Hugh Freeze said.

“I think we’re playing one of the better teams in the country this Saturday night, and it’s a great opportunity. We’ll have to show a lot of resolve as the way to world works now around the way athletic programs of this magnitude where the expectations are high. There’s always a lot of things that you have to handle and manage that have a lot of impact on the way your players prepare and perform.”

“It’s going to be a huge challenge for us, we’ll have to be locked in all week”, said senior tight end Evan Engram.

“Be more sharp in practice. Take each rep, each play like we’re in the game, it’s third and seven, get game ready, get more sharp. It’s going to be a huge challenge but we’ll be ready, and go in there ready.”

The Rebels haven’t won in Death Valley since back in 2008.
