TUPELO, Miss. (WCBI)-Reconstruction of a famous Tupelo building could soon be underway.
The Mississippi Department of archives and history have pledged a $120,000 matching grant toward the formally known Spain House.
The famous building was moved in three pieces to another part of the city and pieced back together.
The Tupelo historic preservation society must contribute $31,899 towards the project as requirement of the state grant.
The money will pay for a new roof and reconstruction of the porch and portico.
