ABERDEEN, Miss. (WCBI) — For most students Spring Break is a time for rest and fun. For some local teens it is an opportunity to share with the residents of The Care Centre in Aberdeen. The youth group from Payne Chapel M. B. Church in Prairie spent their afternoon visiting and passing out cards and gifts.

For the residents of  The  Care Centre, it was a welcome time of fellowship with the young people. For the youth group it was a chance to give back.

“Today we come out to show love to the elderly, and just to show them that we appreciate all the years they have been with us. How much we appreciate them overall, and just want to show them love,” said Jamarquez Johnson of the Payne Chapel Youth Department.

This was the first year the youth have done this project, but they are considering doing it again.
