COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI)-There is expected to be extra sets of eyes high over the streets of Columbus during the upcoming Market Street Festival this year. Stark aerospace is lending the city of Columbus two high-tech spy cameras systems to help monitor the crowds at market Street. With the POP 200, which stands for Plug In Optical Payload, operating technicians can view images at a distance of up to three thousand feet. The high tech spy system will make a constant sweep of the 8 block Market Street area. “It will give the opportunity for our law enforcement to be able to use the technology and at the same time we can show the people that are attending which is what kind of work we do here at Stark Aerospace,” said Tom Ronaldi, Stark Aerospace. “They are going to be located at College and 5th which is right at the kids area. So they came to us three four weeks ago to secure that space,” said Barbara Bigelow, Main Street Columbus. The other high tech spy camera will be placed at an unknown location observing event goer activity.
