Video: A Toy Drive Preview

WINONA, Miss. (WCBI) – A toy drive will provide many children with Christmas gifts in Winona and Carrollton.

Toys for Tots is over a 100 years old, but this is the first time it will be in those towns.

On Saturday, dozens of less fortunate families will stop by and pick up the donated toys.

There’s enough toys to give to almost 300 children, and each child will receive at least five toys.

“The parents will come in, and they’ll actually get a chance to pick out their kid’s toys themselves. We’re not going to give them anything, that’s the good thing about it. We’re going to let them pick out the toys themselves. The marines will be here as well to help load some of the toys for the kids, and we do have some city officials who will be there, just to pitch in and help to make a smooth transition,” says coordinator, Calbrina Woods.

The drive will be at Jimmy’s Barbershop in Winona.

It kicks off at 10 and lasts until 5.
