TUPELO, Miss. (WCBI) -A donation from a cellphone company will help members of a local Boys and Girls Club learn how to make wise choices.Verizon officials presented a 3 thousand dollar check to the Haven Acres Boys and Girls Club in Tupelo. The money will help fund that club’s “Smart Girl’s” Initiative.That program teaches young ladies how to make wise choices in areas such as health, nutrition and academics.

The grant is from Verizon’s “HopeLine.” That program helps victims of domestic violence and also helps support organizations such as the Boys and Girls Clubs.More than 150 kids are at the Haven Acres Club during the summer months.
