TUPELO, Miss. (WCBI) – A children’s health education center has more resources to take its message and high energy activities to schools.

This morning, Toyota donated $20,700 to Healthworks!

The grant will be used to support a series of programs based on the “We Can” initiative developed by the National Institutes of Health.

We Can stands for Ways to Enhance Children’s Activity and Nutrition. It is designed to give parents, teachers, and communities tools to help children stay at a healthy weight.

“We are providing that money so Healthworks! can go out to classrooms of third through fifth graders of Lee County as well as sponsor field trips here at Healthworks! and offer some parent programs here at Healthworks!,” says Jackie Hogan, TMMMS.

That grant will be used to bring the We Can program to students in Lee County schools.
