WEST POINT, Miss. (WCBI) — One of three men involved in a high-speed chase from West Point through Clay County into Lowndes County is in custody.

West Point Police say 18-year-old DeWayne Chandler turned himself in Tuesday. He is charged with fleeing and eluding in connection with a Nov. 23 incident that wound through several West Point streets before ending up in Lowndes County where deputies used spike strips to force Chandler to lose control of the Monte Carlo he was driving.

Chandler and another person fled on foot. A third person, 20-year-old Richard Wilson Jr., was caught at the scene. Chandler is being held on $10,000 bond.
