WINONA, Miss. (WCBI) — At least one Winona convenience store owner wants to be able to sell beer on Sunday. Now aldermen want to hear from the public.

Bridges Quik Way Owner Charles Walker asked city leaders to consider allowing Sunday sales as a way to expand business across the city. But aldermen were hesitant and set a public hearing for 4:30 p.m. Sept. 3. to hear the public’s thoughts.

It’ll be a busy day for aldermen. They have a public hearing at 5 p.m. on the city’s 2014 budget which includes a 1.7 mill tax increase.
