Woman Killed In Okolona House Fire

OKOLONA, Miss. (WCBI) – An Okolona woman died in an early Wednesday morning fire.

It happened just after 5 AM at a home on Gatlin Street, according to Okolona Fire Chief Terry Tucker.

Fire fighters were not able to rescue Rebecca “Becky” Minniece, 69.

Her husband was able to escape the flames.

Chickasaw County Coroner Michael Fowler says an autopsy is not scheduled.

Tucker estimates the home was built in 1910.

The cause of fire remains under investigation.
