TUPELO, Miss. (WCBI)- A Tupelo woman is in custody after police say she stabbed a woman in the neck multiple times.

It happened around noon Saturday in the Kroger parking lot at Crosstown.

Tupelo Police Major Jackie Clayton says,  the women were in two separate cars when they got into an altercation while on the road.

That’s when they pulled into the parking lot and started arguing.

Authorities believe the women did know each other and that it was not a random act.

The victim was taken to North Mississippi Medical Center. Her injuries are non-life threatening.
