13 Area Players Named To All-Star Softball Teams

CLINTON, Miss. (WCBI Sports) – 13 area players are named to the MAC All-Star Girls Fast-Pitch Softball teams.

The 13th Annual all-star games will be held on Saturday, June 7. Pontotoc’s Alex Brown made the Class 4-6A North team.

Below are the players on the Class 1-3A North squad. All but one player on the roster is from a WCBI area team.

Baldwyn: Haley Sandlin

East Webster: Mamie Hollenhead, Autumn Frost

Eupora: Hannah McDowell

Hamilton: Addie Thompson

Hatley: Mary Kathryn Reeves

Nettleton: Taylor Smith, Harley Tucker

North Pontotoc: Chandler Gates

Smithville: Lane Kennedy, Breanna Edgeworth

The Class 1-3A North squad will be coached by Jeremy Duke of Smithville and his assistant coach Michael Wildmon.

Nanih Waiya’s Reagan Holdiness made the Class 1-3A South team.

The games will take place at Community Bank Park on the Jones Junior College campus at 900 South Court Street in Ellisville, MS. Tickets for the games are $5.00 per person for general admission seating.

Class 1-3A will play at 10 a.m. and Class 4-6A will play at 1 p.m. Game two for both Class 1-3A and Class 4-6A will follow.

The Class 1-3A North squad will be coached by Jeremy Duke of Smithville and his assistant coach Michael Wildmon. The South 1-3A team will be guided by Wayne Wilson of Sebastopol and his assistant coach Cassie Wilson.

The North Class 4-6A team will be led by head coach Shane Staten of Southaven with his assistant Dennis Perryman. The South 4A-6A team will be coached by Justin Chaney of Newton County along with his assistant coach Jay Smith.
