COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) — The 19th annual Market Street Festival Continued on this gorgeous Saturday.

The weather could not have been more perfect for the market street festival in downtown Columbus.

“Anything I can eat. Food is food. I love food,” says Rayelle Brown.

“Just to have fun and look at stuff,” says Dalton Whitten.

“The arts and crafts and I like being outside and it’s good for your family and friends,” says Alice Hampton.

For Alice Hampton the Market Street Festival is a family tradition she enjoys with her family each year.

“I look forward to the consistency of the tradition each time I come. Do see a lot of pretty stuff around here and we’re on our way to find the food court now,” says Hampton.

Over a dozen food vendors offer a wide selection from chicken on a stick to funnel cakes. For festival goer Johnny Hankins, it’s the creative vendors that catches his eye.

“Artwork and some of the landscape type vendors that sell stuff for your yard and things like that,” says Johnny Hankins.

While Hankins searches for the best artwork, he notices a few changes at this year’s festival.

“It seems to get better and better every year. I know this year I’ve noticed that they have the vendors set up on the side of the streets which makes for more walking room. They seem to do an after action report when they are done and kind of change it for the better so people can move through a lot easier,” says Hankins.

So whether it’s the food or the art vendors that call you to market street, you can always guarantee a good time with family and friends.

Market Street continues on into the night with live entertainment at the Riverwalk.
