2 Charged in Separate MCSD Arrests
MONROE COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI) — Two Monroe County residents are behind bars after arrests in separate cases.
According to a press release provided by the Monroe County Sheriff’s Department (MCSD), a traffic stop conducted Sunday on Hwy 278 East resulted in the arrest of 70-year-old Smithville man Manisco McDaniel. McDaniel, per the release, is a convicted felon.
Deputies discovered a firearm in McDaniel’s possession. He was charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
McDaniel is currently detained at the Monroe County Detention Center (MCDC); his bond has not been set.
In a separate case, sheriff’s deputies arrested 53-year-old Amory resident Melissa Jackson Monday.
Jackson was charged with a possession of a fraudulent prescription.
Jackson is also detained at the MCDC on a $10,000 bond.
