2 Killed In Lee County Crash

LEE COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI) – Two men are dead after a head-on collision involving two vehicles early Sunday morning.

The crash happened around 12:45am just outside the Tupelo city limits on MS 6 West.

Authorities with the Mississippi Highway Patrol say,  it appears Jeremy Rosamond, 27, of Ackerman, was traveling east bound in a 1999 Dodge Durango, when his vehicle apparently collided head-on with a west bound, 1998 Chevrolet Tahoe, driven by Royce Thompson, 24, of Randolph.

Both drivers were killed during the crash.

A passenger in Thompson’s vehicle was transported to NMMC with serious injuries.

Officials say it appears Rosamond was wearing a seatbelt but Thompson was not.

Authorities diverted traffic on West Main Street at McPherson Road until the accident was cleared around 2am.

The crash remains under investigation.
