Louisville, Miss. (WCBI) – The newest operation in Louisville is Natron Wood Products, and it’s CEO Richard McDougal is ready to get down to work.

Mississippi Governor Phil Bryant, other state, city, and county officials were on hand for the big announcement, Monday (5-13) afternoon.

“All the way from Oregon, going to provide 200 jobs here. If you expand that, usually have a multiplier of about 6. You could effect 1,200 families here with the wonderful opportunity,” said Governor Bryant.

“This county has hinged on the housing market. And we lost brick, cabinets, plywood, particle board. And to see plywood come back and knowing the loggers are back. Having an opportunity to sell in this county is tremendous,” said Will Hill, Louisville Mayor.

Natron Wood Products CEO Richard McDougal, calls Mississippi a business friendly state. He says he is ready to get to work.

“We are very excited about all the work force here and everybody has been really good for us here,” said McDougal.

“They keep talking about the work force how good the men and women of Mississippi are about coming to work on time, delivering a good days work and having respect for the companies they work for,” said Bryant.

Louisville Mayor Will Hill says patience has finally paid off after landing the company having a ten million dollars investment.

“But we stayed the course. This started last summer and when you look at the big scheme of things, it doesn’t seem like it was that long. But while it was happening it was very slow,” said Hill.

Natron Wood Product plans to officially open it’s doors by late this fall.

The Mississippi Development Authority provided assistance for the project through the Community Block Grant program and the Appalachian Regional Commission.
