3 Dead In Fayette Alabama Crash

FAYETTE, Ala. (AP) – Police in western Alabama say alcohol may have factored into a three-car crash that left three people dead.

Authorities say 36-year-old Latisha Terry and her 16-year-old Daughter Hannah were killed when the car they were riding in was hit head-on by a truck being driven by 28-year-old Timothy Gallups on Sunday night.

Police Chief Danny Jenkins says Gallups was traveling north when he swerved into the southbound lanes. Jenkins says investigators believe Gallups was driving while intoxicated.

Police say a teenage girl who was driving behind Terry witnessed the crash and wasn’t injured when her car collided with Gallups’ truck.

Fayette is about 40 miles northwest of Tuscaloosa.
